Map sensor??

Question:
I'm taking car to garage next week but have some concerns. Mitsubishi mirage 1995 car. I tapped on the map sensor and car started up. I tapped on it again and car turned off. I think i need a map sensor but not sure. And where can I get a good one from? Nappa or O'reily?

A faulty MAP sensor should have triggered your service engine light. If it did, then a code reader / scanner would be able to retreive the code and verify that it is in fact the MAP sensor.

NAPA and O'Reilly are equally as good in their products, and it definitely sounds like you MAP Sensor is shot, or the connection to it is bad (check the wires before replacing the sensor).
