Does a BMW 3 series E46 have a relay for the wipers as the wipers stop working if so where is it?

have bmw the wipers stoped working pulled over turned engine off turn back on they started to work,drove for little while they stop again any idears

It's all done through a single BODY ECU, which also does the light, electric windows, central locking etc etc. Get a BMW garage to pop it on their diagnostic machine.
