Question:
I was trying to change out my spark plugs and three out of the four plugs came out easily. The fourth came out but only the inner part of the spark plug. The metal case with the side electrode is still stuck in the cylinder head and I was wondering if there was any way possible to get it out. Somebody PLEASE help me fix this problem so I don't have to junk my car!!

Fix the engine or replace it ?
if you can get a drill and an easy out bit down there...drill the center of the lug then use the easy out to remove the remainder of the plug. Once you have accomplished this..when putting the new plugs in purchase some "antisieze lubricant" and put this on the threads of the new plug to keep this from happening again. How should you prep and mount a lund hood scoop?
If you can not get to the plug in the afore mentioned method...then remove the head and get it out with the head on the bench...this will take more time and be a bit more costly because you will have to purchase a head gasket set.but it's cheaper than a new car.
worst case scenario, bring it to the shop and have them heli-coil the hole

Use a 6 point spark plug socket with the ratchet, get a 2 foot piece of pipe and stick it on the end of the ratchet for more leverage, it will work. I have done this many times. You're not saying if the metal casing of the plug BROKE (the hex came out withe wrench) or. if the hex part of the casing is still intact in the head.

IF you can still get a wrench on the plug casing, soak it good with Super Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster, or other quality penetrating oil. Place the socket with an extension on the plug casing and TAP on it briskly with a hammer. The vibration should help the oil get into the threads. After soaking a while, you SHOULD be able to loosen the plug casing.

IF on the other hand, the plug metal casing is broken, you will probably have to drill it out, the install a Heli-Coil insert for new threads. Great, except that any chips that fall into the cylinder during drilling will cause a problem... :-(
If you can rig up a vacum to a small hose (to clean out the cylinder), and blow everything out with compressed air thoroughly after drilling, you MAY be able to get away with this without removing the head.
Make sure when installing new plugs, you put a dab of anti-seize compound on the threads so the new plugs don't freeze in the heads later.

i assume you could get an easy out to get it back out. Its a tool to drill into that to back it out. be careful doing it. take your time. it might have gotten cross threaded when last tune up was done. wouldnt have to junk the car. you could get a new head and head gasket in worse case scenario. How to start a truck with out the keys?
hey lance, is the hex part still in the head?if it is,take a 6 point socket and spray something like pb blaster around it and take a breaker bar,or a ratchet and cheater pipe and work it back and forth, until it comes loose.ive gotten cars that is like that.someone went wild with the socket.all you do is just snug the plugs, heat will tighten them.just do like i say,and it will come out.i been working on cars a long time and i saw lots of problems.More Questions & Answers ...
