Can I tow a trailer with a 99 Chevy Malibu 6cyl.?

Question:
I have a 99 Chevy Malibu and want to take it on a cross country trip with a 5x10 Uhaul trailer. Can it be done. The car doesn't have any provisions for a hitch. How much should it cost to get it retrofitted. Or what is the easiest/cheapest way to do it.

i own a shop, and you can tow a very small one ,and that's about it,there's a guy here where i live at, that has one of these and he tows a small 4x8 trailer with it,but all he ever puts on it is a small lawn mower he mows grave yards, and stuff,so far it hasn't hurt his any,but i wouldn't want to put much weight on it at all this car wasn't built to haul anything but people ,good luck hope this helps.

Rent a u-haul truck to put your stuff in and tow your car behind it.

Car won't start?

It should haul it, the only thing I would do is get a set of air shocks for the back of the car so you can level the car after the trailer is hooked up. If you rent a u-haul they should have hook-ups for your car that bolt to your car for the trailer to hook on.
