This is not my first time driving across the country, but before my car only had 30,000 miles on it now it is up in the 95,000 miles. It is running fine and I always keep up with the routine mantainence. Is there anything specific that I should have checked or looked over before I make my treck from california to florida?

I would take it in, have the tires rotated and checked. Check all the fluids etc and belts and just have them run a diagnostic on it to-its a lot of miles. I did this before a 2 week driving vacation on my Xterra and it ran about 60.00 or so- worth it for peace of mind. We still had a tire replaced in route but that was it-In addition to your fluids (oil, coolant) Make sure you also have your brakes and belts checked. Having certain belts go on you could cause a lot of time and money lost.
