How do you reprogram a car key ??

I need to reprogram my Ford Galaxy key and have been told there is a way how to do it yourself, any one know how?

close all windows and doors. insert key in drivers door lock. within 5 seconds turn key to unlock 5 times, remove key. programming mode activated for 15 seconds ( led on in door). point key at rear view mirror. press and hold lock button within 5 seconds. press unlock button 3 times. release lock button. key should flash 5 times, door led should flash 6 times if all ok. this needs doing if fault with system or battery in key u/s. this is for earlier models up to 2001, i don't know how old your car is.

You can not do it yourself unless you have the required computer program and can plug into your cars ECU system. If you can do it yourself all security systems would be useless.
Try Remote Key Alarms . 01213080819 if you are in the West Midlands. Alternatively its a garage job.

If the key is boken. Get a replacement cut using the spare key as a template. Cut the old key tab from the old useless key and fix it on the new key.
