Question:
The car was purchased with this condition so I'm not sure here. On a '95 Honda Civic Ex, driver's side door, from the inside of the car, the lock switch on the inside will not move to locked position while door is open (it will if it's closed). When I get out of the car, in order to lock the door, I can only do so outside with the key with the door closed. Before I rip off the door panel to fix what I assume will be one of the lock rods, these cars weren't made with some feature to stop people from locking thier keys in the car were they? Is there anything labor intensive I should be aware of to make this repair if one is to be made? Thank you in advance for your answers.

Why is my speedometer bouncing like a rubber ball??
It is a (stupid) safty feature so you can not lock your keys in your car. I work in a garage, and I'm always getting caught on this. I find it more annoying then anything else. Every Honda of the mid 90's that I've noticed, has done that, Maybe even earlier or later years. Its not a defect, it was actually designed like that. One of Honda's many "good" ideas over the years.90 Chevy 1500 1/2 ton pulls to the right real hard when you press on the brakes.?
I have a Honda civic, Why would you want the door to lock if it is open? I think I would be happy knowing that I could not lock my keys in it! mine is a 2007 I have not check to see if mine would do that. If you are not happy with the door lock I would not do it myself I would take it to the Honda place first an see what they had to say about it.What maintence should i be doing for my '95 cherokee?
