Does extended warranty cover oil leak in my car?
The top hose from the radiator runs to the top of the engine, near the front...it's mount at the engine looks like a small metal dome with 2 bolts holding it down.I have a 1988 bronco 2 runs like a raped ape when cold but when it warms up loses all power??
With the engine cooled, remove the hose from that dome by un-screwing the clamp and twist-pull off.
Remove the 2 bolts from the dome, and gently pry the dome with a screwdriver (it will be stuck to the engine a bit, but be careful not to scratch the mounting surface.
1997 ram 5.9 4x4 misfire #5 replaced rotor, dis cap, plugs wires. only misfires at idle. need help?
There's a brass spaceship-looking gadget under the dome, and you can (again, gently) pop it up with the screwdriver...that's your old thermostat.
I need to know exactly how to harden A2 steel.?
Clean the mounting surface of old gasket pieces, and wipe with a clean rag with a little alcohol.
Wipe a little engine oil on the new thermostat gasket (included in the box) and place it over the mount hole, then place the new stat on the gasket (pay attention to getting it upright, the spring-plunger goes under).
Before putting the dome back on, clean it as you did the mounting hole, and if you like you can put a small bead of Permatex (blue) on the dome.
Heater problems with Dodge Dakota.?
Carefully place the dome back over the new stat, and hand-tighten the 2 bolts.
Evenlt tighten the bolts, one at a time, until they both get a little tight...then torque them down to about 25lbs...and re-mount the hose with it's clamp.
what happens if there is crack on my range flat top that just broke off?
Allow about 30 minutes for the Permatex to setup (if used) and start the engine and watch for leaks...un-even torque on the mounting bolts will cause a small pressure leak on either side of the housing (dome) once the engine is hot...so let it run until the heat kicks on.
