Car wax question?

is there anything you can buy that will make your paint look as good as if water was on it.when water is on a car, for some reason it glows and gets rid of minor defaults

Sure there is. But it's not a one step operation and the paint has to be in good condition. Go to Meguiar's web site and they can give you a break down on how to make the paint hop. http://www.meguiars.com/ Barry Meguiar will show you how to do it.

While driving my car my brakes felt like they applied then the car stopped abruptly...what happened?

I agree with Fordman on Meguire's but I also had great luck with a liquid wax called "liquid glass." If you really want to make it look wet you should start with a good wet-sand or clay application to remove surface imperfections. If you arent comfortable doing that yourself a good bodyshop or reconditioning center can do it. After that apply your choice of wax and admire.
