How to make my sunfire a little quicker?

i have a 2000 sunfire, with the 2.2 4 cyl. would like to make it a little faster but dont want to spend alot of money, what are some cheap modifications i could do to make it a little quicker

Quickest,cheapest is to just improve the air flow in and out. Bigger air filter like K&E and bigger free flow muffler and tail pipe Just make sure all your repair parts comply with your states air polution requirements or you will fail the check.
