I have a 1998 Honda Civic EX and it won't start!?

Question:
I posted this a couple of days ago, but it still won't start!
It is getting gas, but no spark. We've changed plugs, dist. rotor, ignition switch, timing belt, ignition control module, coil, main relay and spark plug wires. We have checked several sensors and they are fine. It died driving at about 15 mph, but just a second or 2 before it died the RPM shot way high. Can anyone tell me if there is a electronic kill switch on it somewhere? or any more ideas would be greatly appreciated.

replace the distributor. sounds like a bad igniter. get a remanufactured distributor, install it, and it should have spark.

You entire system is probably or of time due to the brake. Stop wasting your time and get the car to a reputable and certified mechanic and let them get your vehicle situated.

My 1.6 car drinks gas like a v8, what is the problem?

Bad news is, you may have spent all that money, and your engine could be shot. Most Hondas don't like it when you drive them until the timing belt breaks.

Anyone here any good with Auto-Electrics?

i find it hard to believe you replaced all those parts( NEW) they would set you back 500-1500 bucks computers & distributors are big $$$.All in the name of tryin to save a couple of bucks..
If you got that money to spend be (SMART) take it to someone who knows what there doing it will save you $$ in the long run.

You are better off taking it to a certified mechanic or take it to a Honda dealership and have it fixed.

Are there any good Garage door remotes?

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY HONDA, AND IT MIGHT SOUND STUPID,BUT ALL IT WAS, A FUSE. THIS FUSE WAS LOCATED UNDER THE DASH BOARD. THE ONLY OTHER THING I CAN THINK OF IS THE IGNITER UNIT ASSEMBLY WHICH IS LOCATED INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTOR, IF THAT IGNITER IS OUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE A SPARK.

Why won't truck won't start?

GOOD LUCK

Any one work replacing windows on vehicles??

No spark is usually from failure of a crankshaft position or camshaft position sensor. There may be more than one of either so you need some info. on there location. There is no way to check some sensors unles the engine is running. I don't know how you tested or what you tested in the way of sensors as you state above. Any way check the sensors I have mentioned.
