Question:
I drove my car to a resturaunt and when i came out it wouldnt start. All of my auxilary power is working properly. The stereo, dummy lights, etc... When I try to turn the car over absolutely nothng happens. I dont hear the starter bendix kick out either. I checked my ignition fuses and they were all good. I have never had a problem with this car before. Am I missing any other simple answers or should i just put it in the shop and spen my hard earned money? Let me know if you can think of anything.

bad starter. try hitting it moderately and it may work so you can get it from the restaurant to home so you get it changed.Simply check the battery connections.they could be loose or corroded and allow enough current to run minor accessories but not enough to engage the drive for the starter.

You may not be too bad off. It could be something simple like a starter relay or ignition switch. Go get it checked out if you can. See if it will jump start. Good luckThis could be an intermittent fault within the wiring loom i had same problem park up go back to car nothing no starter motor click nothing i sold my car in the end as you could be paying an arm and a leg to find the fault good luck.

it depends on what kind of car it is...make model, year engine size, etc...the first thing you may want to do from home is Google the problem... type in>>>this..." troubleshoot (make, year of car_______) starting problem or car won't start".(without the quotation marks)
... the next best thing to do is call the car dealer and ask for Service. Simply tell them the problem and ask if they can give you any ideas as to what it may be. With computer controlled cars, it could be up to 30 different things that nobody could diagnose but a shop with computer diagnosing equipment.
The third thing to do is to tow it or have it towed to the garage and have them check the fuel pump and fuel pump fuse (or you could)and anything else it might be..it will be well worth the money if you don't know anyone who works on cars regularly.
---My female friend had a problem with a 92 Camaro that would not start and everyone told her it was the fuel pump, so she had a guy put a new fuel pump in it (I actually finished the job; long story)and it ended up being a $2.00 wire connector on the engine...I told her she should go have it checked out first by a garage first but it ended up costing her around $300 in the end!
