Vehichle recently vandalized with paintballs that are oil based?

Question:
My truck was tagged with about 6 paintballs and after cleaning the paint off I noticed that there was some sort of oil based residue left behind. Does anyone know of anything that will remove this residue? I have heard to try anything from brake fluid to WD40, kinda hesitant on using any of these products. Any help would be much appreciated.

DO NOT USE BRAKE FLUID!!

Alternator and battery both good, car won't start?

wd 40 isn't too bad an idea, although it's a lubricant as well.

Please give me advice! Soon i will buy a 2003 Porsche Boxster S with 41k miles on it & in excellent condition.

isopropyl alcohol would be my first choice. NOT rubbing alcohol, as it too has a lubricant. dish soap, like dawn? cuts grease.

How can I take off my ford explorer's anti theft system?

This happened to my friend after he got his brand new Evo.. He was SO pissed.. And the paintballs left little dents too.. He just took his car in to get washed at the car wash and everything came off.. If you don't feel like taking it to the car wash, try dish soap.. Particularly, Dawn dish soap.. It's perfectly safe to use on cars (I use it to wash my cars when I do it myself) Dawn works the best!! And don't forget to get the f!ckers back that got you!!!

P.S. You CAN use wd-40.. That's what I used when I de-badged my car and it did not do anything to my paint.. But I'd go with the dish soap.. I can pretty much guarantee that it will work..

first of all don't use brake fluid it eats paint. and wd40 will make the prob worse. try goo gone. it is a citrus based product. apply it to a rag and wipe area. or wash the car and use shampoo. shampoo is designed to cut grease .

Nissan Sentra Dies after starting?

WD 40 wont do anything becasue there is oil in it .. if you use really hot water and soap and really scrub down the area it should be fine.. try toothpaste if not.. youd be surprised

My service engine light came on on my Honda Accord, I did an electronic scan and the code P1739 popped up?

go to an automotive part store and ask for a product called wax n grease remover. This will remove the oil based residue and will remove any wax in the area. Wash your truck 1st, then use the wax n grease remover, and apply a coat of wax to the whole truck.

Is it a blown fuse in the car?

P.S: The wax n grease remover will not damage the paint any other parts on or near the paint. Don't use brake products it will eat the paint before you know it.
