It could possibly be your serpentine belt. Kind of a screech type noise? If you can replace it yourself, it's usually under $100. This is something that even the guys doing the quickie oil changes can check and take care of.Are there any other symptoms?

I need help after chaging distrituter on my car?
It is probably your serpentine belt (the belt that turns your accessories, power steering, air conditioning, alternator & etc). These belts should be changed every 4 to 5 years. You will hear a high pitch sound as soon as you start your vehicle. How you can test to see if it is only your belt - spray brake cleaner on your belt while the car is running. If the noise goes away, you need a new serpentine belt. If part of the noise goes away and you hear an additional noise, you need to check out your pulleys. As your belt wear out, the tension is no longer at its best and could put a strain on other components like your "tensioner assembly" which has a spring like pulley that puts the right amount of tension on your belt for you particular car. At any rate, get it taken care of ASAP before you are stranded - usually at the worst time, worst place. Don't be sorry, be pro-active.Transmission Problems With A 1995 Chevy Blazer?
Have you checked your brakes lately? Most disc brakes pads have a small metal tab, or squeaker built in that rubs on the brake rotor when the brake pads are in need of replacement. Eventually these squeakers will rub all the time, not just when you apply the brakes and its is quite annoying and embarrassing.More Questions & Answers ...
