How much would it cost to get a car painted?

Question:
I drive a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder that is Pearl White, I have begun to hate the color and was wondering how much it would cost to get a pearl black, or something like that.

Does anybody know why my vauxhall omega 3.0 elite 1996 is backfiring threw the inlet manifold and wont rev?

A convertible is not really cheaper because there is more to work around and to tape off. If you go somewhere that charges less than a $1000 you get what you pay for, it would be like getting a steak from McDonalds. The paint and supplies alone would cost $500 if it has any kind of quality. A soild paint job could cost as much as $4000. There are things to factor in like metallic or pearl paint and painting the jambs (most cheap places will not do this). You will want the old paint sanded down and two to three coats of the paint and finally a clear coat to seal the paint job. After the painting all runs or dirt spots if any should be wet sanded and buffed. $2000-2500 should cover a decent paint job. Otherwise get an Abra or Maaco special and make sure you make an appointment for the year following your paint job unless you like the flaking paint look. Painting over paint with one coat and no clear coat with inferior paint will not impress anyone, save yourself some money and go to the hardware store and buy some spray paint. I wish you the best and hope you are happy with the decision you make.

depends talk to your local body shop. you might beable to do some of the work your self and get a better price. like stripping and sanding and priming the car if you have to capabilities to do so.

Searching for a mecanic or that kind of person?

Its cheaper to have it painted the same color. Being a convertible doesn't make that much difference, because they have to mask it all off instead of just the windows. I would take a guess somewhere from 1,200 to 3500. It all depends on what you want in the way of paint. If you are changing the color why not go with black metal flake, or some other custom treatment?

Why is my car's engine all of a sudden louder?

Since you seem to get tired of the color after a while, I wouldn't get it too customized. Going to a dealership or dealership owned body shop will give you a factory-like paint job (unlike something that may not have that factory shine or look generic). I'm going to have to guess your paint job will cost you between $600 and $2000, depending on the body shop and/or customizations. Obviously, if you added sports numbers or stripes it will cost you signifigantly more than just a color change.
