I got a scratch about 2 years ago and guess it was deep enough for it to start rusting..I dont know if it will do anything to the car other than cosmetic, its on the lower portion of the back right door...How can I a. stop it from rusting if i need to and b. can i just put touch up paint on it---my cars black so its an easy color to find, lol...thanks again

If it's a small scratch and you aren't too concerned about it try using clear finger nail polish to prevent further rusting.Once a vehicle starts rusting it is difficult to stop, if it is just beginning to rust you may be able to sand it down to bare metal and primer it before spraying black paint over it if you cover it it will not adhere well. If it is a small area try using a small piece of sandpaper and than you can tape it off and spray paint it to match. (cheap way anyways) if you don't stop the rust it will continue to spread like a disease especially if your car sees harsh winters.
