Question:
I don't know which place to start with.I do not want to be charged again..it was very expensive..Can't tell if the squeak is from front or back. Thanks..
Answers:
Whoever did your brakes should have applied brake lubricant to the shims. The brakes can also squeal if the pads are hard and cheap. Midas installs hard pads that last longer but causes more wear on your rotors. The rotors will need to be replaced a lot sooner if these kinds of pads are used. Try to find out if the squeal is coming from the front or back, and have the shop look at it. Do not pay any more - it should be warranty work.
I'm looking for a threaded linkage (M/F) that swivels. What is this called and where can I find it?
Justme is also correct about squeal resulting from the break-in period. Brake pads need to be broken in before resuming normal operations. During this break-in process (about 500 miles or less), the brake pads may squeak or squeal. If the squeak lasts longer than that, then there is a problem.

this is gonna sound dumb, but go down the street with someone running beside you and hit the brakes, they will be able to tell if the noise is coming from the front or rear. then take them back for warrenty work. Good luckWhat is the most likely problem with my tranny?
Well if you have discs on the front then the squeak is from the front, drum breaks dont squeak. The reason the fronts squeak is they either didnt use the anti-squeak adhesive on the brake pads, or they used very cheap pads.Car almost out of warranty - any places do comprehensive auto diagnostocs?
You might want to get the back and front brakes checked at an independant mechanic. Midas is rediculouly expensive and uses the "lifetime" brake pads and shoes that are harder then heck. This is why they squeak. You need to get the OEM pads from the dealer and get them installed by somoene else. These are less likely to make noise because they wear like they're supposed to.How do i bypass a vats anti theft on my 86 firebird?
This is probably caused by brake dust, from the new pads or shoes breaking in... you could clean it with a little brakleen or just turn up the radio..1970 Trans Am Lucerne Blue metallic color code 26?
sometimes when you get new brakes they squeal for a bit while they are bedding into the old brake drum or disk, or if you have been driving in mud or anything it might have dried and that will make them squeal, take it back to midas and get them to have a look tell them it was 2 weeks ago and they should look at it for free for you or minamal chargeMore Questions & Answers ...
