Question:
I have a 1988 Chevy Nova that will not turn over when I try to start it afer snow or rain. I have a weird fuse box thing off the positive terminal and sometimes if you loosen the bolt and move it starts right up I have tried that and now it wont start at all. I have tried Jumping it off and cleaning the posts to no avail my brother in law who is a mechanic doesn't even know what else to do except junk the car also the back rotors are rusted and cracked (after my old mechanic just did a break job) and it is becoming a hassle to put so much money into this car when my ex left it for me as a reliable car I can't afford to replace it much less repair all the problems this car has. Please help.

Where can I get car parts and accessories for less than retail price?
You definitely have some sort of electrical problem, maybe a short or a break in a wire or two, unless you take it to get check by a good electrical mechanic it would be hard to diagnose. If the car is costing too much to be repaired just get rid of it, this car is almost 20 yrs old so it won't make much sense putting too much more money into it.can't afford to fix it or junk it?
What is the best product or way to remove oil stains from a concrete driveway?
You are between a rock and a hard place and need to make a decision.
I have a question about my car?
Sounds like your brother in law is not an auto mechanic is is not of much use to you.
When I shift my car Into drive, It jerks really hard some times, why Is this?
having worked on those I found them to be horrid little cars and never understood why people raved about the version with Toyota badges on it(same horrid little car!)
Quite honestly you need to junk it, but will probably seek out an amatuer mechanic and trade favours for them to mess it up worse.
Bummer
