Question:
I accidentally drove through a large parking lot with my parking brake on, and I didn't hear my car beeping at me because I had the stereo on. My car is about 9 months old, and is a Chevrolet Cobalt LS. How will this affect my brakes?
Answers:
Don't worry.
I have a Kia Sedona and its losing coolant through the header tank due to too much pressure.?
If it was such a short distance you should be fine. Over a long distance you can burn up the rear breaks on the car. you should be ok. Just be aware of the E-break next time.As long as you didn't drive too far you should be fine, just make sure not to do it again. It basically engages your rear brakes partially to stop a parked car from moving. You could have your rear brakes checked out if you're concerned about it.
Why does my 94 Intrepid die when its idleing or when I put it in gear?
If you didn't drive too far, you probably didn't do much, if any, damage. If, on the other hand, you drove excessively with the parking brake on, you likely destroyed you rear brake pads, and possibly warped the rotors.Only once you may be ok, but I'd have a shop pull the rear drums and inspect it for distorted/broken parts...basically, you'll wear the brake shoes fast, and may damage the transmission since you are overloading it by doing it...be careful, and turn the stereo off when you are driving, you can't pay attention to two things at the same time.
My wife drove with the parking break on from work. It damaged the transmission. At least that's what the mechanic told me. Personally I don't know how parking break is related to transmission.
What is the advantage for having "Quadracam" (4 camshaft) against DOHC or SOHC?
hhh! it wont do no damage at all! the worst thing that could of happend is the car could of went on fire!! The shoes on the back of ur car would of got hot"cause ya left the handbrake on" that it WOULD of caught on fire! but u done no damage 2day! be more careful!!! good luck!!!!I'm having electrical problems with a Mazda 626 4 Cyl.?
if you did not drive to far it should be ok. listen and see if it makes any funny sound if so take it to the shop. if you drove it to long you may want to have it checked[ bearings pads rotoar.]probably not a lot of damage in that short of an area, have
it checked at your next oil change or whatever. Too much of
this stuff can burn up the brake and it wouldn't ve available
if you actually needed it
Car clicking when you turn the key?
since you didnt drive too long like that you most likely didnt do any damage but if you would have the brakes would have been the last thing to worry aboutMore Questions & Answers ...
