Answers:

Its my 18th birthday and I was wondering what I should have done to my 1998 Mercedes ML320 to make it faster?

They play a part in ensuring the suspension on your car operates as designed. They allow movement where the swinging arm meets the body . If they are worn they should be replace asap, but this should not be an expensive job as they are basically rubber bushes, hard to DIY though as you really need topress fit them.

Anyone own an oldsmobile bravada and have mechanics knowledge?

They go between moving metal parts. When they go bad they rattle and make everything loose and sloppy. Some are hard to replace and some are easy. It depends on the car.

I assume you mean "bushings". If they are worn, it will affect your steering and tire wear dramatically. The cost to replace them depends on the model of car you drive. Check with a couple of garages to get estimates for replacing them.

What other fuel problems would it be if my suv isnt getting gas?

They are rubber spacers which restrict the movement and act as dampers between the components. By doing this they help reduce vibrations.

I have not done it for awhile, but I need someone to tell me how to bleed my brakes on a 87 chevy nova, thanks

If they are worn they WILL need replacing because they constitute a safety hazard and would almost certainly fail an MOT. They are relatively cheap to buy but dependant on where they are the labour can cost a bit . I'd do the job myself because I've got a few years in the trade and I know where to look. If you have any doubts then get it in to a garage. I'd do it sooner rather than later to prevent the problem escalating

They are rear suspension bushes and if they fail you will feel like you are driving a suet pudding as the wheels traverse back and forth within the wheel arch.

What price do you put on you, your families, and other road users lives?

Dodge man out there?

Bushes are used on cars as hinges on the suspension, they allow the car to move up and down during driving without the wheel alignment moving out of alignment.
They are made of a type of rubber and have an extremely hard life. As a result over time they wear resulting in un-allowable movement in the suspension.
Typically this results is loss of feeling in the front end of the car with play in the steering wheel. In some cases there may be an associated thump noise from the suspension when driving.
There can also be additional wear to the tires on the car.
They in the worst situation can be dangerous as the car may be difficult to control.
The good news is that they are relatively easy to change and are very inexpensive. If you look in the max power magazine there is normally adverts for up graded polymer bushes that offer better performance over the standard bushes.
