Radio works, but light doesnt show/instrument pannel lights dim?

Hello, I have a '85 Pontiac Fiero GT and my stock GM Delco radio works but the light for the clock/station does not come on. I have had it come on briefly in the past but this really bothers me. Also my dash instrument's (speed/RPM tachs) light is very dim at night and I was wondering if this is how bright it is supposed to be or can I make it any brighter with new bulbs/fuse? If I cannot quick fix the radio, I will just buy a new JVC one next week.
