I worked in service for Ford for years. We had a lot of vehicles come in for assessments while under warranty but that weren't acting up when we looked at them. Unfortunately that sometimes happens. The service department really needs to have a loook at this, particularly since you could wind up getting a ticket as a result fo the problem. Explain the situation to your service manager and ask them how they approach intermittent problems like yours. Note: I don't see how they can charge you anything for looking at it unless you have modified the truck in some way and the mod is interefering with the speedo. From what you've said, it seems like you haven't done anything to it, you're just experiencing abnormal operation of the speedometer.
