Three years. That's the warranty on replacement batteries purchased from Sears. I have not seen any warranties longer than that, lately.

Was something left on in the car to run the battery down? Is the car driven daily or does it sit alot? If the battery was run flat by a load it can be recharged normally and still be good, take it and have it tested after a full charge to determine its state of charge and if it holds that charge before replacing it.
