What is the best way to tell which axle needs replaced on a front wheel drive car?

I know one of the axles needs replaced but how do i know which one is bad?

you can cut the wheels real deep on it,and the bad one should make a popping noise on it, you may also feel of it,and see if it has any free play in it i have found a few this way also,good luck i hope this help,s.

We had this repair done 2 weeks ago. If you turn a corner, and hear a pronounced clicking sound then either your CV joints/boots are bad or you need the axle replaced. This is a critical repair because if that axle goes you'll lose complete control of your steering. You'll be able to hear which side the noise is coming from and your steering wheel is probably a little loose as well.
