if you are not in the AA ..then you should be .then they would have come out and got it going great value for moneyThere is no magic answer here I am afraid ... you need good voltage potential to turn that engine over. When you talk about 'starter kit', what exactly do you mean? You have three choices here (1) take the battery out and charge it ... borrow a charger if you have to ) (2) buy a power pack that is en emergency dry cell that comes already charged ... I think you can be these as cheap as £30 (3) simply ask around for someone with jumper leads'
I appreciate that money may be a problem here ( reading between the lines ) but there simply is no magic wand. You can try a push start but you will need muscle for that.
Bump or tow starting is the best idea with no jump leads, but remember.. it only works on cars with a manual gearbox, (use 2nd gear) If you dont know how to do it ask someone with experience, but NOT a stranger.... and thay can just drive off and you never see your car again.
Really, you need to go and buy jump leads, or a battery charger.... or possibly a new battery.
You can jump start it either by pushing the car "preferably down hill and shoving it in gear or by a tow.

Another thing to check (once youve got the car started) is the water in the battery. If its low you need to buy the special water available from any motoring shop - very cheap too (about £1 for a small bottle). Do not use normal tap water. Failing that you'll need a new battery I think. Good luckhow do open the hood of a 1990 gmc sierra s15?

Assuming there is nothing wrong with the car and its a manual you can probably `bump` start it. You'll need a push or a convenient hill - with the ignition on put the car in 2nd (keep clutch depressed), when some reasonable speed is attained pop the clutch. The car should start, hopefully.2001 stock civic fog lights won't turn on anymore?
Borrow a battery from someone and swap it with yours. Start your car and let it run, remove the battery ground first, then positive. DO NOT let the positive lead touch the car. Put your battery back in, connect the poitive lead, then the ground. Drive off and run it for about 15 minutes.if you have a manual gearbox and some help try bump starting in second gear
