Question:
I purchaces an awesome spyder but fear that I need a motor the oil light stays on at idle and at about 2500-3000 it rattles quietly the dealer says "its motor time" others tell me to "ride it out" as they last forever even with the knock but has any one dealt with this problem (replaced oil sending unit and change oil regularly with moble 1 synthetic) there is no other problems right now but I have only witnessed one engine stop running by itself and do not wish to repeat that experiance (it was ugly)
Answers:
What can I do for a moldy back seat in my car?
Knocking w/oil light on? I would be willing to bet the head was rebuilt in the past year. If the head is rebuilt, it puts a strain on the bottom half of the enging and starts to kill the oil pump. Light is on, pump is going bad. Knock it one on the connecting rod bearings ready to go out because of poor oil circulation. Replace or rebuild before the rod gets thrown out the side of the block or worse. There is no such thing as "motor time". Good motors run indefinitely but that does not relate to mitsubishi. Your suspicion is correct - you do need a motor.
The heater in my car blows out cold air when I'm on the freeway, or going fast. What's wrong?
I would try this first. Drain oil. Take carb. cleaner with extension nozzle and spray up through drain hole. You are trying to clean the screen on the oil pickup tube. Then replace plug.Use a purolator oil filter, they have a anti drain back valve. Fill it with cheap 20-50 weight motor oil. Run a 100 miles and change it again. If you are in a warm area, I would buy straight 50 weight racing oil.It may cushion the rod bearings. If not working look for a wrecked car for the motor.Good Luck.normally when a motor starts knocking one of your cylinders is not firing and you must rebuild your motor or find a new one
