I just finishing putting brake pads on front of 2003 Caravan why this little cliking noise?

Any ideas as to why there is a smell like burning rubber coming from the engine area of my 2001 nissan sentra?

the clicking is a solenoid that allows you to shift. it unlocks your shifter when you press the brakes to prevent accidental shifting by children or animals. try shifting without pushing the pedal and you should'nt be able to. its normal dont worry sometimes they just get a little noisy.

if it was not there before the pad replacement, is probably the pads not installed correctly. make sure the metal clips are in correctly and lube the area that the metal touches. the pads should be snug and slide on the clips. do not get grease on the pads or the rotor.

i mechanic for a living,,and you may have left a clip or something off of it,,and the pads aren't riding even,,it can also be a rotor that needed to be turned down..id go back over it to see if there is anything loose on it,,better to be safe than sorry,,it may be something simple ,,but it needs to be re-checked,,good luck ,hope this help,s.
