Question:
I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla and the schedule maintenances are becoming very expensive. Do I really need to follow the schedule strictly? Aside from oil changes what is REALLY important?
Answers:
Logistics engineers do a maintenance and reliability analysis on the cars to come up with an optimum schedule of routine and preventive maintenance procedures. There may be some bias on the part of the manufacturers to increase the frequency of these checks because they do make money from them. But by and large, I'd recommend trying to stay with the schedule to prevent wear or breakdown. Also bear in mind that when you go to sell your car or do a trade in, a record of consistent maintenance will be a selling point.
They are if you want to keep your warranty
does any one know the minimum tyre tread on a bus?
They are only necessary to the dealer that makes ridiculous amounts of money when you take your car to them. Your schedule maintenance should basically include: oil changes tune ups and other basic routine checks. Toyotas are purty reliable it's ok to take it to an ASE certified shop for your schedule maintenance work. Hope this helps. How much oil should I put in? It's 1/4 inch below the "optimum range" on the dipstick. So how much?
You need to do all the scheduled maintenance stuff or they will not honor a warranty claim for an engine or tranny if it craps out.All of them if you want the warranty to stay in effect.
if you know how you can do the maintenance your self just save your bills. its manly oil changes tune ups but check with your dealer make shore its ok to do it your self. you can even ask them what has to be done
Why do I smell a burning smell coming from under my 1994 sedan deville cadillac?
You can pick and choose what services to do on a dealer's service menu. Just ask the service writer which services are really necessary to do for your warranty and just tell him/her you don't have much money. Some people actually have hearts and will cut you a break.Toyota is real picky about using genuine parts for maintenance/repairs so try to stay with the dealer. many people try to do their own maintenance themselves. The only problem is whenever there is a warranty issue with the engine or transmission, it is much more difficult to provide maintenance records in the form of autozone receipts than it is with printed copies of repair orders. At a minimum, fluid changes should be done at a licensed shop.
