You might try changing the fuel filter and cleaning your battery terminals to start.Although the connections are good, the wires might be corroded underneath the insulation, next to the terminals where you cannot see it. The battery terminal or the starter terminal may also be corroded inside their respective cases where you cannot see it.

Also sometimes the starter armature is defective, but usually that means your situation occurs only occasionally, after it stopped spinning at a particular dead spot in the armature from the last start.
Assuming you get a good charge, my first step would be to replace the battery cables with new ones and double check that you have good ground connections from the chassis to the engine and to the dashboard. If that didn't work, replace the solenoid if it is a separate component. If that didn't work then remove and disassemble/clean or replace the starter/solenoid. If that didn't work then replace the battery. If that didn't work then start over because you missed something.

After several tries the heat through the corroded junction has caused expansion of the parts and more firm contact conducts better. Take the cable off the starter and clean the lug, and the nut. Often, just tightening and loosening the nut will establish good contact--for a while.

on the starter is a solenoid that pulls the starter gear into the flywheel. it is typical for the solenoid to go bad and should be replaced. not a hard job. the starter must come out and the solenoid replaced on top of the starter. also bench test it to make sure it works before putting it back into the auto.How can I raise rear suspension without buying air struts?

Replace your starter. I promise this will fix the problem. Don't try to just replace the solenoid on the starter for 2 reasons. First off you cant buy just a solenoid for the starter, second if you did it wouldn't be realy cost affective.More Questions & Answers ...
