Question:
Please tell me the pros and cons first, then tell me the life expectancy of these two, next tell me how often to replace and check, and last, but not least, which is the best.

How can you tell the difference between synthetic motor oil and traditional petroleum-based oil?
I think they're pretty comparable. Timing belts don't last as long (I believe those should be changed about every 60,000 - 90,000 miles), but are cheaper to replace. Belts are also quieter than chains.Timing chains last longer; my husband's Toyota Corolla has a timing chain, and our mechanic said that it didn't need to be replaced until around 150,000 miles (it's still on its first chain). However, it's going to cost more to change out when it does get there. [And this IS a mechanic we trust, btw! lol :) ]

my dad said timing chain is best cause he needed to replace his old'c car timing belt twice or thriceCoolant Problem in a 1st gen integra?
like a belt drive harley compared to a chained drive harley. timing is about the same. belt drive preferedbelts waste less HP and work better for longer pulley centers but only last 90k miles or so and can be damaged by things such as heat and chemicals. chains last longer [100k to 150k] and can be made to better control slack. they are harder to replace.
