I have a scratch on my car ,i used touch up paint on it?
The radio might have been damaged by the short as the wiring has something in common with the inside lights. The best way to find out is pull the radio and find out which wires run continuous power and which ones are powered up when the lights come on. If these check out and there are no shorts anywhere else then the radio is the likely culprit. I would abandon the radio pod in the instrument cluster and install an aftermarket one where the middle vents are. There is in installation kit for this you can get from Walmart or any other merchandiser. The alternative would be a used pod from a junkyard.i own a shop, and it may have burned the wire off on the back of the fuse box for it,even though the fuse looks good and probably is, it still might not be getting any power to it,that one fuse works both things most of the time, and sometimes more than that, but id try looking in the back of the fuse box,you may see a frayed wire there on it,good luck hope this helps.
Where can I find a plastic strip for my 1993 Thunderbird?
There is one wire (not too big) for memory and must be connected to "power at all times" If you connected it to "ignition power" it will not keep time. The light circuit in the radio should be connected to the headlight circuit for dimming only. I think you have some wires crossed or shorted together causing this problem. You have a blown fuse
