Why it takes for ever for my transmission to set the parking light on the dashboard I can't ramove the keys

Question:
early in the morning I go to the store 5 minutes away from my house, when I get there and try to set the car on parking the light thet indicates that the car is on parking on the dash board won't turn on for like 5 minutes without this light I can't remove the keys. Can anybody tell me why?

what wild horse said or you spilt some coffe or soda on the shifter and it got onto your cable or lever or whatever mechanism honda uses to sync the trans and key cylinder together. if you can get the shifter boot off, spray anything that moves with wd40. You have to shift to see what moves. need more details? email me/

Sounds like your netrual saftey switch, it may be weak and going bad. either that or your trans shift linkage is streched and needs adjusment.
