Where is the relay for the turn lights of a mercury cougar '99?

The owners manual doesn't show it , and the autoparts doesn't have it on catalogue, but you can feel it when it turns on (mine is starting to fail)

99' Merc Cougar is based on the Ford Contour (Mondeo in Europe) platform, so I'm going to assume it's similar mechanically. In which case, the turn signal, along with the hazard lights is actually controlled by a single module wedged shaped that fits over your steering column. It's behind the wheel, where the turn signal stalks are.

I have a '96 Contour that had the turn signal problem. First the hazard went out, then the turn signal AND the brakelights went too. Only the center brake light works. All due to this dying, but it's old enough. That controller module costs about $150, and is a dealer-only item.

My fiero has lack of power and the tach seems to spike around and backfire.also bogs and coughs going up hill?

are you talking about the actual blinker?...what can you feel?.i had a tbird, the cougar and a tbird are alomst completely alike.when we changed the relay it was the actual blinker.the mechanism is attatached to it where it connects to the steering wheel.good luck..or buy the haynes manual from autozone.17.00 dollars will show you how to do it...
