Can manual brakes on a 1981 chevrolet c10 be converted to power brakes?

the orginal master cylinder is a discontinued item and, what all has to be changed, would really appreciate some info if some one has had this problem before.

If the master cylynder has been discontinued,you may be able to buy a rebuild kit for it.As far as converting to power brakes,yes it can be done with the additon of a brake vaccuum booster.But in most vehicles a power braking system will use the same master cylinder as a manual system.

Well that's a really old year to be messing around with mixing parts. To convert to a power brake system your better off replacing the entire braking system with the necessary parts to complete a power braking system or don't do it.

i own a shop and yes they can be converted really easy,all you need is a master cylinder and a booster and bleed them out ,the rest is just swapping them out ,but its not a hard job,and doesn't take very long at all to do,good luck with it i hope this helps.
