If the master cylynder has been discontinued,you may be able to buy a rebuild kit for it.As far as converting to power brakes,yes it can be done with the additon of a brake vaccuum booster.But in most vehicles a power braking system will use the same master cylinder as a manual system.Well that's a really old year to be messing around with mixing parts. To convert to a power brake system your better off replacing the entire braking system with the necessary parts to complete a power braking system or don't do it.
