How can you blow a blinker fuse when starting a car?

1985 camaro 350CI
I can try to start the car and stop several times and it wont blow. But if i start the car and have it running for 5 minutes or so and turn it off, then the fuse is blown and it wont allow me to tryt o start the car.

It seems like a wire is close to ground or another circuit is connected to the "blinker". You have some "looking" to do.

There is something in the same circuit that is causing the short to blow the fuse. Head to the library and getr a wiring diagram. On that old a car go by the dealer and for a few bucks they may copy you one off the microfische
