Question:
I wonder if a Turbocharger can be direct combine with Supercharger by Freewheel coupling device. The picture in this link:

The idea is simple. Compressor belt would driven the shaft of Turbocharger by Freewheel. In low RPM, it will spin both turbine's impeller in the ehaust manifold and compressor's impeller. In the exhaust would create such a sucking or vacuum that help the piston when pushing the gas out of the chamber in exhaust stroke. In the same time, it compress the air to the intake as normally supercharger does. in high RPM, the gas power will directly rotating the impeller compressor and disenggage the compressor by Freewheel mechanism. So there is no more load of engine as Supercharger is free now. The principle is like a pedal of bicycle when riding down hill. A specific calculation and transmision gear must be impelemented to achive the ideal ratio of speed between Supercharger and Turbocharger needed.

It's possible that a gasoline engine fonction without a spark?
Unfortunately most solutions tried around this concept (including freewheeling a standard supercharger at low load cruise for better fuel economy) haven't turned out very well due to the added complexity etc.Right now Garrett is working on a hybrid turbo/supercharger that utilizes a hydraulic drive built into the center section of the turbo that is spun by using a hydraulic oil pump run by the motor when high throttle is requested at low RPM. There are some sort of "drive fins" on the middle of the bearing shaft that are spun by the pressurized oil creating boost much sooner. I assume they built in a bypass that opens when the engine exhaust power exceeds the limits of the hydraulic power. The biggest benefit is that it overcomes the packaging challenges already inherent to supercharging and that are doubled by trying to place a supercharger drive in a place that is optimal for a turbo (middle of the engine down low).basically the only pieces that would vary from engine to engine would be the pump mount, pulley and lines, rather than needing mounts, drive shafts, etc.

Also keep in mind that it isn't as simple as just adding a belt drive, a turbo compressor has a peak speed in excess of 100,000 rpm at full boost, to be effective at low engine speeds you'd need at least a 10:1 gear multiplication to speed it up (you can't typically make the drive pulley itself 1/10th the circumfrence of the main engine pulley and still have enough surface for a belt to run on without slipping)

Um, no.I really need to know why do I need to keep jump starting my car?
Uhhhhhh mmmmm Nope. How do you unthaw your car door locks? see below?

if i understand this right, you're talking about running a turbocharger like a supercharger in the low rpm range, then in the upper rpm range the belt would disengage and run like a normal turbo. ... sounds like it might work, if you're planning on building this, try it on something small or old that way it doesnt cost a fortune when you break it or catch it on fire.
Reseting ODB2 Cycle on 2002 Impala?
im not sure if the turbo would really help get exhaust out of the engine at low speeds, at least not any better than a NA engine. with this idea, the turbo would be running constantly so the life of it would be cut in half if not more, also, you would need a MUCH larger radiator to disapate the added heat. it would only be feasible on a race car cause your mileage would drop through the floor.
