I took my 99 ford taurus as i was talking about it earlier.The car died on me the lights got very dim the?

battery light was on for a day as i was driving the car. It took a jump we managed to get the car home we had to jump it 4 times,The funny thing is as long as the jumper cables are attached to the 2 cars it stays running as soon as you take them off it stalls,does it sound like the alternator or a pulley because it makes a noise tensioner pulley and idle pulley was replaced also the belt

yes it's the alternator it's shot . If ya keep jumpng it youwill have to replace the battery to. New Alternator it's that simple.Guarnted fix.

i mechanic for a living,,and you have a bad battery,,its not accepting a charge at all,,that's why it runs while the cables are on,,if you have run it for very long,it will ruin the alternator also,and may already have done so,,but that's whats causing this to happen,,good luck,and be care full a bad battery can explode,,once in a while,,good luck ,hope this help,s.
