1997 cadillac catera security?

i have a 1997 cadillac catera, what is its security features? does it have any standard. everytime i get the security words come on the dashboards. but when i am done driving and take the keys out it seems as if the ignition "snaps" and won't allow other keys, but i can insert the key again. what kind of security does the 1997 cadillac catera have?

microchip inside key and reader in the computer and the reason none of your other keys work is the system is programed to read a certain key code from the original key along with a security feture that can prevent hotwiring and a few others that i am not realy certain of at this time
