I just changed the front left rotor on 94 ford explorer and ABS light stays on becuase of a exciter ring missing becuase it broke upon removal. That wont affect any braking will it? Just the ABS light stays on right?

the new rotor you put on probaly doesnot have an abs ring see if you can remove the one from the old rotor if not replace the rotor with one for absYes it will affect braking. The ABS will not work on that wheel, and possibly screw up the system on the other wheels.

Take the tire off and there is a wire that goes to the ABS sensor. It is easy to accidentally disconnect the connector.Take brake cleaner and spray off the sensor and the ring. The sensor is a magnet that detects the teeth speeding by, and translated to a speed that is realyed to the ABS computer. There is trash buildup on the sensor, or it is unplugged.
Look at the inside of the old rotor, is there a ring with teeth built into it? But no ring on the new one? Check that first.
