Question:
I recently took apart the dash of my 1999 Mazda B3000 to fix a problem with the gear shift indicator. When I put it back together, now it seems I have a problem with the speedometer. As I accelerate, it seems to stick once I get up to about 45 MPH. It will stick off and on at speeds above 45 and sometimes when I am slowing down as well. Anyone know how to fix the problem? I did take the needles off the dash when I was doing the other repairs. I'm wondering if I just pushed them on too far and that is causing it. Thanks for any help.

Does any one know where i can send off my rim to get remolded and chromed?
The needle on any analog panel instrument is attached to coiled ribbon. To "fix" the calibration: you could rewind the spindle shaft and set the needle. Kind of like winding a rubberband around your finger tight, versus winding loose. After doing that--you might lubricate and adjust the speedometer cable.what are people going to do with the junk cars in the junk yard?
Does the needle look like its rubbing? If not you may have damaged the speedometer head by pushing it on to hard.Whats the cheapest place online that I can find a 1997 Honda Accord Hood?
most likey yes, try lubricating the cable from the transmision all the way to the dashyou never should have pulled the needles off the gauges ! you have off set the whole gauge. how did you know where to put the needle back on ? did you mark the exact location it was pointing at. if you removed the dash you probably don't have the cable in all the way either .
