A carfax on my 01 Mustang shows nothing after 34k miles. I bought it with 80k miles on the clock but it appears like it has much more. What can I do to check and see if someone has messed with it?

you can pull the dash out of it,,and the factory puts a small but noticeable seal on the screws that hold the ,mileage unit in,,if this seal is broken,,it probably has been messed with,i check these for a car lot here where i live at,,and i see a lot of them that have been turned back,,and especially on mustangs,,but that's one way,,the computer will also tell you ,on a scan,unless it has been changed also,,if you buy a speedometer with a matching computer,,it will show low miles ,and you really cant detect it,,good luck hope this help,s.

Mileage and over all apperance are not necessarily tied together.
80g sounds about right for an 01. Does the title or registration say anything? If carfax doesn't have info then you are probably s.o.l.
