Question:
I could not jump start my honda accord from a toyota corolla but I could do it at mechanic shop with his device. Does that mean corolla(1998) cannot charge Honda accord (2001)'s battery? Any ideas. What things should I consider when I jum start if it happens again?

2002 Ford Focus A/C Compressor will not engage?
Any vehicle can be jumped from any other vehicle as long as they both have the same voltage system, and the donor's battery is sufficiently charged. Most cars - Corolla and Accord among them - have the same 12V electric systems which means that they can be jumped from each other.Things to consider:
1. NEVER jump start a car from another one with the engine running - you are likely to burn the alternator
2. Make sure the cables are connected properly. If you switch polarity, both computers may be toast.
3. Connect first power (red), and then - ground (black) cable - newer vehicles may sustain computer damage if not done right.
it means you probably did it wrong.
My check engine light came on. The code says mass air flow sensor. What is wrong?
If the corolla's battery was low, it would not be able to charge your battery. If you take many short trips, try charging you battery over night every so often. Then you won't need to get jumped!Where is the back up light switch on a '78 chevy p/u 3 on the tree?
i own a shop, and it may not have had a good connection on it,those little jumper boxes have high amps in them, and the will jump start just about anything,i wouldn't worry about it right now,i think it may have just been a bad connection that prevented it from being jump started,as long as the corolla is starting good id say it would be ok,if it gets to the point it wont start good or starts dragging, then you,ll know you have problems with it,good luck hope this helps.how old and how good are your jumper cables? might need some new ones and don't get the cheep ones.

This is a great question!I am going to assume that you hooked up the batteries correctly.
Ticking noise in my GMC motor?
The only thing I can come up with is that the cable connections are dirty, and that the mechanic perhaps twisted the cable which created a re-connect between the cable and the post.
Where can i buy katzkin leather seat covers?
You probably used one of those real cheap jumper cables that they sell for about $6 or $7 dollars. I learned a long time ago that a good set of extra heavy duty cables will work every time, and are worth the extra money.remove your battery cables and clean the terminals and cable ends with some steel wool. they have a thin buildup that prevents charge from being transferred. next time try scratching the surface of the battery cable with the jumper cable to make sure good metal to metal contact.
