last time i drove it was three weeks ago, and the thing that shows if the car is hot or cold kept going up to hot after a few minutes of driving. When it was on hot it would make a beeping noise like the one it makes when my door is opened.Please help me, i obviously dont know anything about cars and cant for to go to a mechanic right now.

There are several things that it could be.......first thing i would do is check the coolant level in the radiator,(check only when vehicle is cool), make sure that the belt or belts are tight and in good condition, if those things are good then it's possible it could be a faulty thermostat or the water pump or a coolant tempature sensor, hard for me or anyone to say positive without looking at it. hope this is some help.Will the rear end of my converted bus drag?

You may have lost all of your coolant out of your radiator due to a broken hose or bad radiator cap. If you keep trying to drive it you will destroy the engine. Check the radiator to see if you have any coolant.Dose anyone know where i can buy a pair of 1952 ford truck fenders?
Check the water in your radiator, make sure the fan is turning for the radiator. Don't drive it until you check this stuff out, you could damage your engine.One of three things, either the Radiator(prolly not), or the waterpump(maybe), or the Thermostat(check first).

what exactly are you talking about when you say the thing that shows if the car's hot or cold? if it's on the dashboard with the speedometer and gas guage, it's the coolant temparture, it means that the car is close to overheating. take it to any mechanic and get the coolant drained and refilled.if it's the guage on the cluster near the radio, then it's the temparture of the air inside the car, and again, it's probably coolant related, or it could be the car's computer. but i would take it to a dealer to get it repaired.
I think Jerry l knows what he is talking about. But also check the fan belt. It could have brokeing and is gone. Dont drive it if hot. You could melt the motor or worpe the heads..

Check you coolant level first. It's that plastic tank under the hood (not the one with the window washer fluid).If the tank is empty you have a leak in the system and you can just add some water to drive it far enough to get to the garage to have it repaired.

when the car cold ,refill the coolant, put the radiator cap back in place,leave the hood open start the car and at the prudent distance see if it is leaking and from where then let us know.

Chaeck the coolant level first. If there is plenty of coolant, check the thermostat, it may be stuck. If it isn't any of these things, then its probably the waterpump. If it is the waterpump, be sure to get a new thermostat too.More Questions & Answers ...
