Question:
I have a 1993 Grand Cherokee with only 78,000 miles. My friend accidentally ran into it and really messed up my passenger side fender and whatever its called that holds the headlight in place. The insurance company gave me about 3000 dollars to fix it. It seems to me that fixing it cosmetically should not cost that much if i do not quite care what it looks like. This is the real problem: The car cannot make sharp turns, it seems as if the front wheels cannot keep up with the back which by my own researching sounds like something to do with the four wheel drive, and at high speeds it seems to drag and make loud grinding/whining noises from the front of the car. When my car was repaired earlier it came back with u joints instead of cv joints, and i was wondering if anyone knew if that was part of the problem? I have about 2,000 more dollars meaning i could probably by a different used car for about 5000 dollars. should i spend money to fix it or just buy a different vehicle?

how long does it take to change a cylinder head gasket on a BMW 535i?
It always had u-joints. You probably have a damaged hub in the front from the accident.Trade it in and get another vehicle
What kind of paintjob would make my car shine the most?
Sounds like your Jeep is unsafe to drive..I am suprized the insurance co did not total it..It is hard to tell without looking at it but it sounds like the drag links are broke and possible the cv shaft..So, only you know the condition of the rest of the vehicle. If it is in good shape other than that,it would not be hard to fix it.It sounds like your tire is just rubbing on the fender since you got hit... Try checking that out. Have someone turn the wheel all the way to the left then all the way to the right wile you stand out there and look at it. This would explain why you cant make sharp turns and why it is making the sound, and of course why it seems like it is dragging. If you find it is, just get a sludge hammer and mash it out of the way. Dont just get rid of this car, if you fix it it may be worth up to $4000!! Not worth to trash!! HOPE THIS HELPS!!
2000 Chevy venture heat problem?
The insurance company totaled it. 3K is all that vehicle was worth. You shouldn't pour money into problems like that on such an old vehicle. You could spend that 3 grand and still have a bunch of unforeseen problems.More Questions & Answers ...
