How to stop ENGINE LEAK?

There are several things you can do to try to curve the oil consumption...First of all...I doubt you have ever changed you PCV valve, after so many miles they will start to let excessive oil pass into the intake and burn...

The Catalytic systems on these new vehicles are so efficient that they will clean the oil smoke from the exhaust, unless it is extremely excessive..

Depending on the miles on your vehicle, you may want to go with a heavier oil...Most of the quick change places replace the oil with a 10w 30..Maybe step it up a bit...But, the more than likely cause are the VALVE SEALS...They are rubber seals that wipe the valve stems of oil...If it wasnt for the seal, the oil would run down the valve stems right into the combustion chamber..Hence excessive oil consumption...

This repair can be done with out removing the cylinder heads..Maybe a little expensive, but not as much as an engine or cylinder head replacement...Do not let a shop convince you into rebuilding the heads...Depending on the miles on your engine, it could cause the problem to be worse...When you service you heads, it seals the valves off tighter which in turn puts more pressure on the Piston Rings...

Is freon gas combustible? (fridge gas)?

Just replace the PCV valve first...Probably cost 10 dollars or less at the part store...Then, if that doesnt do it..Try running a heavier oil...And if that doesnt do it, you might check into replacing the valve seals...

How much would shocks or struts cost on a 2003 ford taurses?

well....your oil must be going somewhere....try switching from a multigrade oil to a straight weight oil...the chemical catalyst in a multigrade oil will tend to increase oil consumption....or try using a slightly heavier oil....say strait 30 weight instead of 5w20.

If this car is driven 600 miles a day, how many miles are on it? Could be the rings are worn out. Even a well cared for engine will begin to burn oil when the mileage gets high. Over 150,000 miles I would consider this acceptable.

If you're using/losing a quart every 800 miles, it isn't evaporating, it's going someplace. So yes, you do have a leak. Take it to your mechanic and have him find and fix the leak.

How can I test a fuel pump in a 97 Chevy Express Van?

using strait 30 in any car or truck with less than 200,000 is just insane. i believe for recommends either 530, or 520. i don't think you have a consumption problem, i thing you have a simple leak. an engine consuming oil at that rate would have a few other issues, like a check engine light due to a low efficiency cat. i have yet to see a ford with more than 15000 miles that drove that much in a day that did not leak. go back to the dealer, they may have a solution, but you may not have a warranty.
