Question:
What would cuase my battery to keep dieing, other then having a bad alternator? Brought it in for some work on the heads and when I got it back from the shop the battery no longer hold a charge. Could it be a bad connection?
Answers:
Can I replace my serpentine belt to bypass a seized AC compressor on a 87 Tempo?
i own a shop and i would take it back to them ,it sounds like they have left a ground wire off of it somewhere that will make them not hold a charge at all,and there's a few of them on that vehicle that they would have to take loose to get to the heads and get those off,so id be looking for a loose or bad connection, and if you don't find it take it back to them, and tell them to do a draw test on it,that will tell if there's anything running it down, good luck hope this helps.HOW MUCH WILL IT COST to INSTALL A FUSE INTO MY CAR ?
Yes...Bad, or corroded connections can easily prevent the charge from getting into the battery...remove both clamps at the battery, negative (black wire) first, clean with wire brush, sand paper, or steel wool even...then reconnect positive cable first, negative second, tighten good...then take it to an auto parts store for a free "load test" on the battery. You may also have one or more dead cells in it...
