Nope, if it runs at all with it disconnected all it will do is mess up your idle. If you have rattle you could have major problems and your best bet would be your mechanic. Can someone describe the differences between painting cars with enamel vs. laquer or urethane?
NO! Because it will make your motor start to gum up and after time it will quit. This erg valve is to recirculate UN burnt fuel back to be burnt again. Why does my check engine light come on?
i own a shop and no ,it wont help it unless the egr valve is bad then you,ll notice a difference in it,but you,ll get a check engine light when you disconnect it,the only time i ever disconnect them is if i do a test on the egr valve, and its bad, then disconnect them other wise if its working right it might cut your power a little if you do disconnect it,good luck maybe this will help.Chevy Celebrity Electrical Short?
The answer is no. its a common misconception that taking your EGR valve off will increase preformance. People think that it is robbing horsepower. Heres the truth. You EGR valve isn't on at all times. In fact its barely on. It only activates when the PCM sees that you are doing a constant speed for an extended period of time (Cruising down a highway). When it senses that, it will pulse the solenoid. Other then times like that, it is off. If your engine rattles at cruising speed, then it could be the EGR. if it rattles all the time... Check if anything is touching the exhaust pipe, or if an exhaust pipe rubber support is damaged.Disconnecting the EGR can make the engine over heat from running to lean. The EGR actually saves you on gas by induceing exhaust gases into the intake and reduceing air so the engine uses less fuel to operate on.If you have disconnected the knock sensor your engine will knock and ping.
