Go to tirerack.com, do a search by tire size, pick a tire in that size, click on specifications. They list the acceptable rim width that fit certain size tires. Looks like 8-9.5" is the rim width for that tire.
I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4?
It should fit as long as it is the same as the rim size.245 tells how big the tire is,the 35 tell you the width as well as how tall,35%tall as its width, and 20 is you rim size.Brake lights working but warning comes on.?
The 245 means the tire is 245 mm wide. The 35 means that the side wall is 35% as tall as the tire at its widest point. The 20 is the rim size. Your tire is 245= 9.5 inches wide; sidewall is about 3.3 inches tall. You could probably fit your tire on those rims without too much trouble, but as a general rule, you don't want your tire and wheel to differ by more than an inch in width. You should be ok, but I wouldn't go with any wider of a tire.I have tried screwdrivers dosent work .. and a tire iron ..?
That tire size is over 9.5 inches wide...while it might fit an 8.5 inch rim, and hold air, I'd be more concerned with overall clearance in the wheel well. Such things as clearing the struts, fender well height with extra weight in the car(extra passengers), rubbing the fender during turns...all those are valid concerns.12 volt solar panels for caravans-realistically what wattage would I require to run lights,TV etc?
Did the car come from the factory with 20 inch rims? If not, you are already violating the design standard. There is a whole lot more to consider than "gee, they look sooo cool..."
