how to drop a 99 silverado using th lowring blocks?

If done smoothly as to not grind the synchro's it will not destroy your gearbox overnight BUT! all you are doing is putting increased wear on the synchro blocker rings which means you are going take life off them much faster than you would if you dipped the clutch and allowed them to function as they were intended which is to simply slow down or speed up the unloaded input shaft which on its own has very little mass....however when still attached to the engine they are trying to do the same to aprox %1000 more mass (engine)

the whining noise is there in every gear only when clutch is up. starting to jump out of gear now.help.thanks?

i mechanic for a living,,and don't know for sure what you mean by floating them,if your talking about putting it in neutral while going down hills,,that wont hurt it,,that s about all i can tell you,,good luck, hope this help,s
