Question:
It's an automatic transmission. It doesn't matter what temperature it is outside either. *HELP* Any idea what's going on with it?
Answers:
Does brake fluid ever just get low, without there being a leak?
Some cars simply require that you are putting a lot of force on the brake before shifting out of Park...push real hard on the brake pedal and hold it there before shifting out of Park.do you park on a hill or steep driveway? sometimes this will lock up the trans. and make it hard to shift out of park.. also check the solenoid that unlock your shifter when you step on the brakes, could be hanging up
check the shifting cable.it could be bent.
Do you park on any kind of hill? If so, use your parking brake. Put the parking brake on before you let off of the brake pedal, while you are in park. This will put the weight of the car on the parking brake and not on the parking sprag in the transmission.
Looking for a decal for my car...?
There are a few possibilities your shifter linkage could be benthighly unlikely your shifter linkage bushings may have have to be replaced due to wear and tear or being completely gone,a
good possibility or there is a "parking pall" in side your transmission that is either loose or possibly bent, The latter is the most likely problem.
